Turkish Cultural Center – Syracuse (TCCS) organized its annual fundraising dinner at Syracuse City Hall Commons Atrium University for the new building project on September 30, 2015. There were about 40 guests including members of the Turkish, Bosnian, and other local communities.
The dinner started with the serving of delicious Turkish food prepared by the local Turkish women to support the fundraising dinner. TCCS president, Timur Saka gave a speech on the vision of the organization and the new building project for TCCS.
Syracuse University professor Alejandro Garcia, Daryl Files from Interfaith Works CNY and Tanweer Haq from Muslim Student Life made closing remarks on the value of organizations like TCCS for the Syracuse society. After the speeches, guests started to make pledges to support the activities of the Turkish Cultural Center. It was a successful fundraiser event and the night ended with an announcement of the 10th Annual Friendship Dinner that will take place on October 26 focusing on the international refugee challenge.
