Syracuse Latin School opened its doors as of September 2014. First grade teacher Mrs. Burden contacted the director of Turkish Cultural Center in Syracuse (TCCS) to organize a cultural presentation on Turkey.
Presentation included basic information on Turkey such the location, population, cultural foods, and social life. All the first grade students were present to listen to the presentation and they enjoyed learning some Turkish words and participating in a folk dance.
Presentation ended by passing Turkish gifts including Turkish delight, halva, and balloons with Turkish and American flags. TCCS is planning to conduct more presentation at other schools in Syracuse School District.
