altTCC Westchester volunteers are now in Haiti. Please donate generously and rest assured that 100% of all your donations would reach the Haitians in the form of supplies...

We will send volunteers to Haiti on February 11, 2011. They are staying in the same location as our previous volunteers. They met with the President of Haiti today. HHRF offered the President to build a tent city, as all the Haitians are sleeping on the streets. Shelter is one of the emergency needs right now in Haiti. The tent city will house 1000 families until more permanent and sturdy buildings are built. The President expressed his gratitude to our volunteers.

We already started serving hot food to people over there with the supplies brought so far. Our goal is to serve hot food to 1000 people a day. Helping Hands also offered to build a school near the tents. The President was pleased and told the authorities to show HHRF volunteers a suitable location to start with our projects.

Our volunteers also met with the Health Minister of Haiti. Information was exchanged. The doctor volunteers of HHRF were warmly welcomed everywhere.
