syr_noah_pud_171Turkish Cultural Center Syracuse hosted a Noah's Pudding Party together with its second Turkey Trip information session on the 26th of January, 2012. The event attracted a lot of attention from local community and almost thirty guest attended. The program started with light refreshments after which a short presentation about Noah's Pudding and its history was given.

411TCCS recently started Meet Your Neighbor program where families affiliated with the Center invite guests to their home for dinner. Families meet, greet and create a joyful family atmosphere. The purpose of the program is to build bridges between communities and have people experience intercultural interactions. To this date, Turkish families met and hosted 80 members of the local communities in their home. It is an ongoing project and at least 100 people are expected to be hosted in the following 3-4 months

41TCCS hosted an information session on their Annual Turkey Trip Grant Program. Nearly 20 interested guests attended the session and expressed their interest in the program. The event featured three grantees that attended Turkey Trip in previous years who shared their experiences and suggestions about the trip. The attendees enjoyed the presentation with Turkish coffee and light Turkish lunch. Second information session will be hosted on January 26, 2012.

Ann_Marie_Buerkle-edited1TCCS had a chance to visit and speak to three U.S. Congress members, Ann Marie Buerkle, Maurice Hinchey  and Richard Henna. TCCS representatives presented their work and efforts in the CNY community and gave some details about their future projects. Three Congress members expressed their gratitude and appreciation of TCCS’ work and offered their full support.

David_Valesky1TCCS and TSA members have recently visited several Syracuse community leaders to inform them about TCC and its activities within CNY. Among the visited leaders are NYS Assemblyman Samuel Roberts, NYS Senator David Valesky and WRVO Director Michael Ameigh. TCCS members presented TCC and its work and invited the local leaders to participate in various programs organized by TCCS throughout the year.
