"In our last cooking class of the semester we made one of the most popular desserts of the Ottoman Cuisine, BAKLAVA, also a very well known Turkish dessert all over the world. Baklava is a very hard to make but tasteful dessert. Our second recipe was a dip called CEMEN (cumin paste). Cemen is a very common sauce for breakfasts in Turkey but also can be a perfect snack when served on a piece of bread or cracker any time of the day.

We had lots of fun at our first cooking class.

We made fake raw meatballs (with potato actually!). It was very much hands-on where everyone was involved and helped out and of course we also enjoyed eating them with Turkish yogurt drink (ayran).
