"Members of TCC Syracuse Women Club enjoyed another weekend at TCC with cooking nutritious and appetizing Turkish food. In our 3rd cooking class of the season, we cooked red lentil burger which is a combination of lentils and bulgur wheat in the same dish making it a perfect source of protein and fiber. Our second dish was a dessert called fake chicken breast pudding, full of calcium and low in calories. After cooking session is done with the supervision of our great cook Mrs. Ebru, we became experts on the tricks to get the perfect consistency of puddings, and how to turn a regular food to a fascinating dish with the help of different seasonings.
The second session of our cooking class was a conversation session based on the idea of the importance of visiting people suffering from an acute or long term illness, while enjoying our precooked burger and dessert samples. We discussed the proverb “A person visiting a patient will continue to be in the harvest of paradise until s/he returns home.”
By the end of the class, we all left with our bags full of delightful Turkish food and had unforgettable two hours.
