blurbonwomenOn the morning of Saturday June 4, 2009 women from Saint Mary's Church and the Turkish Cultural Center collaborated to discuss the role of women in Christianity and Islam.

The day's event started with breakfast at the Turkish Cultural Center. Representatives from each organization led a discussion within each tradition. After each presentation, a question and answer period created increased dialogue and understanding about the role of women from the different traditions. The highlight of the day's conversation the understanding of everyone that there are similarities between these two traditions as related to women. Celebrating similarities and learning from each other established a sense of community and friendship through dialogue.
