On November 28, 2011 Turkish Cultural center held a friendship dinner with the Japanese consulate and the Japanese American Association and Nikkeijin. This great event renewed 100 years of Turkish and Japanese friendship.

On November 28, 2011 Turkish Cultural center held a friendship dinner with the Japanese consulate and the·Japanese American Association and Nikkeijin. This great event renewed 100 years of Turkish and Japanese friendship.
The Turkish and American guests were reminded of the great work that their ancestors have done to build this friendship. The program began with Turkish cultural center's introduction video. Then the vice president of Turkish cultural center Queens, Mr. Oguzhan Turan mentioned the importance of friendship between Turkiye and Japan. As the program continued with delicious Turkish food, a video about the relationship between Turkiye and Japan presented to renew the friendship. Representatives from the Japanese consulate Deputy Consul General Mr. Fumio Iwai and Consul Mr. Yoshito Yamashita joined us and spoke after the short movie was shown and expressed that the movie had summed up all of his feelings and emotions. Japanese American Association representative was Seiko Oishima Ichida was also very thankful and greatful for being invited and being able to spend time with the Turkish community. Later on, Turkish cultural center had a chance to listen to live Japanese music with a special visiting musician Yoko Habese. The night ended in a delightful and pleasant manner.
