metekozanoglumanhattanFamous movie and TV episode star Mete Horozoglu visited Turkish classes Advanced level students and discussed with Mr. Artis Klavins about Turkish, Turkish culture and Turkish movies. Mr. Horozoglu was impressed by students' deep knowladge about turkey and he expressed that he was quite surprised and happy to see people speeking very good Turkish language.

tccamnturclass2012Turkish class level 5 students were invited to cafe-class on Saturday, January 28 2012. Level 5 students came together for breakfast and studied Turkish in Aba Restaurant where they enjoyed delicous food.

You learn not only Turkish grammar, but you also put what you learn into practice in various ways: playing games; learning songs; receiving visits from native speakers of Turkish; and watching TV commercials, soap operas, and cartoons.

You get to participate for free in the Center's various activities.

You occasionally get to meet Turkish VIPs in class. You get to converse with native speakers of Turkish.

    Turkish classes are available for anyone, whether a beginner or an experienced speaker looking to sharpen speaking skills. Turkish lessons aim to develop all five skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, writing, and understanding of the culture. Students master the basics through courses focusing on conversational Turkish with an emphasis on active participation using videos and communication exercises.

    On Tuesday August 17, Turkish Class Students of TCCNY got together for an Iftar Dinner. Opening speech by Turkish Studies Director specified that students of Turkish Studies not only learn the Turkish Language but they also get a glimpse of Turkish Culture and values through these programs and activities. The program ended with a Q&A session.
