We are deeply saddened by the loss of Marie Colvin during a Syrian shelling attack on Wednesday February 22, 2012. Marie Colvin was a war correspondent from Long Island who dedicated her life more than two decades searching for human tragedies and bringing awareness for human rights violations around the globe.

Diversity Day - January 17, 2012

Turkish Cultural Center of Long Island branches held Diversity and Cross Cultural event at Longwood Jr. High School on Friday 17, 2012. Three volunteer from Turkish Cultural Center performed Power Point Presentation to students and faculties. The goal of this presentation was to inform the students about Turkey and Turkish Culture. Vice President of the Turkish Cultural Center Davut Yilmaz stated that this kind of Diversity and Cross Cultural events are very important because there is only way to understand each other is through communication.

Cross Cultural Night - January 25, 2012

IMG_13151_copy The Turkish Cultural Center of Long Island (TCCLI) organized an event called “Cross Cultural Night” on February 25, 2012. TCCLI hosted “An Evening in Ecuador” to share Ecuadorian culture and traditions. The ultimate goal of this event was to share experiences of various ethnical, genders, religious, and cultural groups and listen to one another.

Celebrating 500 Years of Friendship

DSCN30021 The Turkish Cultural Center (TCC) Buffalo hosted a Turkish – Jewish Friendship Dinner on February 12th, 2012, Sunday between 5:00pm-7:00pm. This dinner has brought political, academic, religious, and other community leaders from the Jewish and Turkish communities in the Greater Buffalo Area together to promote peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding in our community.
