frienshipdinner2011Turkish Cultural Center at Buffalo (TCC) hosted its third Annual Friendship Dinner on November 7, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo. TCC Buffalo organizes this traditional Friendship dinner annually which gained a wide reputation among the Buffalo

community for bringing people from all walks of diverse Buffalo population together and for promoting unity, tolerance and mutual understanding in the community.

This year more than 130 guests attended the dinner including Congresswoman Kathy Hochul, US Attorney NYW William Hochul, and FBI SAC Christopher Piehota. Local elected officials, community leaders and representatives from different faith-based organizations were among the guests of the dinner. The theme of the third Annual Friendship Dinner was ‘How Diversity Promotes Peace’ with keynote address by Congresswoman Kathy Hochul. “I think it’s so important that we celebrate our diversity. One of the elements that makes Buffalo such a vibrant city is its people who come from all over the world”, she said. Rabbi Drorah Setel of Temple Beth El in Niagara Falls, Rev. Marijan Procyk from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and Prof. Othman Shibly from University at Buffalo were among the guest speakers at the event.
