 Ashura(Noah’s Pudding) is a desert prepared by cooking many different kind of fruits, nuts and wheat in the same pan. It has a very rich ingredients list where one can see walnuts, hazel nuts, dried figs, pomegranate seeds, wheat grains, ground orange particles, beans, etc. Their tastes contribute to give the unique taste of each Ashura of its own depending on which ingredient was used at what amount. Today the French Parliament passed a bill making it a crime for anyone to deny that the tragic events of 1915 (which resulted in the death of many Ottoman Citizen, Turks and Armenians, in Eastern Anatolia) as a genocide against the Armenian people. The Turkish people (descendants of the Ottoman Empire) adamantly deny such false accusations and refer maters of unfounded allegations with differing views to historians and call for open debate and discussions.

Turkish Cultural Center Albany brought Turkish Community members together to celebrate the Festival of Sacrifice (Eid al Adha) at their center on Sunday, November 6th.

During the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Muslims commemorate and remember Abraham's trials, by themselves slaughtering an animal such as a sheep, camel, or goat.
