DSCN30021The Turkish Cultural Center (TCC) Buffalo hosted a Turkish – Jewish Friendship Dinner on February 12th, 2012, Sunday between 5:00pm-7:00pm. This dinner has brought political, academic, religious, and other community leaders from the Jewish and Turkish communities in the Greater Buffalo Area together to promote peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding in our community.

DSCN29501TCC Buffalo hold its monthly Coffee Night on January 28th, Saturday. The theme of this month’s “Turkish Coffee Night” was Traditional Turkish Desserts. There was a presentation on origins and ingredients of various Turkish Deserts presented by Mr. Can. Attendees tasted delicious and healthy Turkish cuisine, and enjoyed company of our friends from different communities.

announcement1Today the French Parliament passed a bill making it a crime for anyone to deny that the tragic events of 1915 (which resulted in the death of many Ottoman Citizen, Turks and Armenians, in Eastern Anatolia) as a genocide against the Armenian people. The Turkish people (descendants of the Ottoman Empire) adamantly deny such false accusations and refer maters of unfounded allegations with differing views to historians and call for open debate and discussions.

Currently, people in New York are trying to reach out to their family members, relatives and friends; however, the telephone system in the region is damaged and other circuits are jammed due to heavy phone traffic.
